Introductory note Australian Privacy Principle (APP) 1 outlines the requirements for an APP entity to manage personal information in an open and transparent way. An APP entity must have a clearly expressed and up-to-date APP privacy policy about how it manages personal information. The below template provides a high-level sample policy with headings outlining key elements which should be covered. A privacy policy should be bespoke and specific to the APP Entity and key stakeholders should be broadly consulted to ensure that the privacy policy reflects which happens in practice.
