This precedent is a notice of attornment for the existing tenant of a property that is under a contract for sale.

The precedent is used where there is a sale subject to an existing tenancy (whether a continuing or fixed residential tenancy agreement, or other registered or unregistered lease).

This notice is usually prepared by the vendor’s representative and handed to the purchaser’s representative on completion.
