This precedent is a letter to a vendor client in a conveyancing matter advising the client of amendments and seeking approval for amendments considered appropriate.

This precedent should be used when acting for a vendor in a conveyancing matter to advise the client of amendments sought by the purchaser to the contract. The letter also obtains instructions in relation to those amendments prior to exchange of contract.

The terms of this letter will vary depending on the amendments sought. This precedent uses a table to set out the amendments. However if there is only one or two amendments sought, you may wish to dispense with the table and use numbered paragraphs.

You should obtain instructions from your client as to all amendments required and confirm instructions in writing or by way of contemporaneous file note before agreeing to amend the contract.

This precedent has been authored for LexisNexis by Emma Heuston, Principal Lawyer, Legal Vision.
